Carbonautica Wheels

We're very happy to announce that we have become the North American distributor for Carbonautica's (link) excellent range of carbon and composite steering wheels and other composite marine products. Based in Slovenia - land of sea, mountains, and recent Tour de France champions - Carbonautica has mastered the art of composite steering wheel manufacturing and makes an outstanding complement to our in-house line of classic steel and teak-rimmed steel wheels. 

In addition to their modern style and great hand feel, composite and carbon wheels offer weight advantages that benefit any performance boat, but become particularly evident when steering the twin-wheeled setups that become increasingly popular each year. The flywheel momentum "noise" of the off wheel is reduced to a whisper, letting the helmsperson respond quickly to feedback "signal" at the active wheel. The ergonomic rim shape allows secure, comfortable, light touch steering from any helm position. 

Carbon options are clear coated in a gloss UV-protecting finish, allowing the stunning carbon laminating work shine through. Composite wheels, offering nearly the same low weight as the carbon wheels at greatly reduced cost, are finished in a durable gloss gelcoat in black and white as standard. Tapered hubs mate with most current pedestals, and straight hubs are available to mate with other pedestals. A variety of wheel colors, sizes, and styles is also available by special order.
