Sheave Pins for 4" Sheaves - Stainless Steel

In the early 1990s Edson upgraded the materials of sheave pins from brass to stainless steel. Brass pins were known to wear down over time creating complications in steering systems. For any boats made prior to that time period, please check your sheaves for brass pins and upgrade to stainless steel.

Ordering Pins: Measure center of pin hole to center of pin hole on your existing pins and match it up to the dimensions of a pin below. All pins for 4" sheaves are 3/8" diameter.

Determining the correct length allows the cotter pins to be held securely on the upright. Cotter pins that are not held in place allow the pin to spin freely with the sheave causing excessive wear to the pin and uprights.
